John Evans, CRC, is the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services’
Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Employer Relations Manager. In his Keynote opening OAVSNP he will share his personal
experience of living with congenital deafness from the perspective of someone who has attended both mainstream and residential
schools, received and provided vocational rehabilitation services and worked with employers for the past 28 years to promote
the integration, employment, retention and advancement of people with disabilities in the community and workplace.

John is a graduate of the Washington State School for the Deaf, a reasonable accommodation specialist and an employee development
trainer with extensive experience as a public rehabilitation professional in employer relations. John’s current position
with for Washington DSHS, DVR has provided him with a new perspective on the challenges
faced by staff.

John received his education at Seattle University in Public Administration
and Human Resource Development. He is the recipient of numerous public service awards including the Washington State Governor’s
Trophy and the Nordstrom Community Hero Award. He presently services on the board of the National Association
for the Deaf and is a long-time member of the National Rehabilitation Association.
